Transfer Boards
Transfer boards or sliding boards assist users and caregivers in the safe transfer from wheelchair to car or bed. Their purpose is to bridge the gap between two surfaces and allow the user to slide across the gap while helping to limit injuries from falls.
Our transfer boards are made of either plastic or wood material. Typically, plastic transfer boards tend to weigh less and are thinner than wood transfer boards, but the wood transfer boards are more often capable of supporting a heavier weight capacity.
When determining what transfer or sliding board you need, consider the distance of the gap(s) you'll need the transfer board for, your ability to move/carry a transfer board when it is needed and your weight.
